Alumni

Science thrives on new insights and experiences and the exchange of information about them. For this reason, the IOER would also like to stay in contact with its former colleagues who, for example after completing a doctorate or due to the continuation of their career, now work at another institution. We are starting to build up an alumni network aimed at all those who would like to stay in touch with the IOER.

Our alumni form an integral part of our network. Through regular information, for example via the IOER newsletter (available in German) or through an alumni mailing list, knowledge about topics at the IOER remains up to date. This creates opportunities for joint events, publications and projects beyond the time of employment at the IOER. Other options for cooperation include guest stays, mentoring or cooperation in academic teaching.

By alumni, we at the IOER mean all former employees: experienced scientists as well as junior scientists, colleagues from the science-supporting area, "retirees" who are still active in the field, and former guest scientists of the institute.

Of particular importance is the exchange with the graduates of the Dresden Leibniz Graduate School (DLGS), which maintains its own alumni network. This results in a valuable contribution to the promotion of young scientists at the IOER, as alumni of the DLGS enrich the exchange in an international context and show examples of career paths within and outside of science.

The Leibniz Institute of Ecological Urban and Regional Development is jointly funded by the federal government and the federal states.
